Elders and their children are not talking with each other about the financial and emotional components of legacy nor about personal end-of-life issues. This creates the potential for a negative legacy of conflict, pain, and family feuds that could have been eliminated with a tried-and-true method: communication.

Course Description
This course develops skills for dealing with conflict and teaches a step-by-step model to develop solutions in conflict situations (based on the Harvard Negotiation Project Model).
This interactive 40 hour mediation course is approved by the ADR Institute of Ontario and completion of the course qualifies for application as a mediator member of the ADR Institute of Ontario.
Participants will:
- Build critical communication skills to encourage participation and resolve conflict.
- Develop techniques to resolve potentially explosive or volatile situations.
- Practise skills to give and receive criticism.
- Develop innovative solutions that work for all parties in a conflict.
The hands-on interactive 5 day presentation of the course encourages participants to apply concepts using typical scenarios.
